Prior to his current position he had been warden at Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex since May 2021. Kline has also served as warden at Saguaro Correctional Center.

La Palma Correctional Center and the Red Rock Correctional Center are both operated by private prison company CoreCivic and contracted by the state of Arizona.
